Get To Know Dr. Jonathon Thomson
Dr. Jon's journey into dentistry began with an unexpected sporting incident in his hometown of Yakima, WA, where he spent his days immersed in the mountains, dirt biking, and playing sports. After being struck in the face by a baseball, he learned first-hand the life-changing power of dentistry. After the incident, his dentist encouraged him to shadow the office during the summer, sparking his passion for the field.
Dr. Jon's deep appreciation for patient interaction and the desire to create enjoyable, educational dental experiences led him to fall in love with dentistry. He holds a Master's in Biomedical Science and a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ.
When not in the office, Dr. Jon enjoys watching and playing sports including basketball, baseball, golf, and football. He enjoys the great outdoors especially when hunting or fishing. He also loves spending time with his wife and two dogs, Annie and Brody.

Get To Know Dr. Jenna Gazzola
Dr. Jenna's interest in dentistry was shaped by her own experiences, growing up in Queens, NY, and Nazareth, PA. An accident involving her front teeth at a young age made her nervous about visiting the dentist, but the compassionate care she received at the time left a lasting impression on her. Her passion for dentistry was further fueled when she got her braces off at 16, solidifying her love for creating beautiful, confident smiles.
Dr. Jenna aspires to extend the same sense of relaxation and comfort to her patients. With a Master’s in Biomedical Science and a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ, Dr. Jenna brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to her practice. Beyond the office, she loves to travel and enjoy the great outdoors, often spending time with her husband and their canine companions, Brody and Annie.

Get To Know Dr. Edward Kirk
Dr. Edward F. Kirk earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in June of 1999. Upon graduating, Dr. Kirk moved to Arizona to be closer to his many relatives in Sun City. After working in offices in the Glendale area, he decided to take the leap into private practice.
Dr. Kirk sold his dental practice in June of 2023 to husband and wife team, Dr. Jenna Gazzola and Dr. Jonathon Thomson. As the previous owner of 21 years, his expertise is appreciated and his compassion for dentistry is admired. We are happy to have him as part of the team at J&J Smiles.
When he is not in the office serving his patients, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife Olivia and their many pets.

What to Expect at Your Visit
Patient Experience
When you first walk through our doors, you’ll be greeted by our comfortable environment and our friendly office staff. Then, you’ll be invited to sit down and relax as you fill out any new patient forms prior to your appointment. Once those are complete and your hygienist is ready for you, we’ll invite you back into one of our operatories.
You’ll receive a cleaning, comprehensive exam, and X-rays. Next, your dentist will sit down with you to discuss the results. If everything looks good, you’ll be able to schedule your next appointment in the front office. If anything needs extra attention, your dentist will explain the results, take time to address any questions or concerns, and describe any further treatment recommendations.
What to Bring
In order to help make your visit more efficient, we ask that you bring your ID, your insurance information, and any patient forms you’ve filled out prior to your appointment.
